Marie Osmond in disbelief

This past Friday, news broke that Marie Osmond’s 18-year-old son Michael committed suicide by jumping to his death. In a note, Michael explained how severe depression had taken over his life and that he felt he could never conquer it. Suffice to say, Marie is heartbroken.

“When she heard about the tragedy, she was a mess. She was in disbelief. They’re doing the best they can,” the friend says. “They’re all together. She’s taking care of her family. They’re all trying to explain that certain [bad] things happen while they grieve at the same time. They’re trying to understand and make sense of it.”

Can we hunt down depression and kill it? It seems to be causing a lot of problems lately.

My hearet is relating to you as a momma. I know no words can ever help, except your faith and i’m praying for everyone you son touched. Marie, life will never be the same yet living for the day you will see Michael again must be the goal. I believe i will think of you every day, I too have lost a child, when people say it gets better, i just realize they do not know. I love you, and i don’t even know you. Gone but NEVER FORGOTTEN>>>>>>

From my heart Marie I pray for you and your family to become stronger during this sadden time. Remember he is with God now and someday though it seems far away, he will walk with you again.
Keep close to your children now, they will give you strength more then you realize, they need you now as much as you need them. Time may not take away your pain, only give you back your strength. My prayers are with you & your family. God Bless you and your family dear lady.

Marie & Family,

Know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this sad time. Remember Michael as a son, brother, nephew, and friend. He is now in a better place and will not have to fight the battle of depression any more. Stay strong, continue to love each other and keep the faith.

Sincere sympathy,
Cynthia C. J.
