Leslie Nielsen dies at 84

Before getting to Jennifer Aniston and Chelsea Handler in a bikini and the winners of Spartacus and the PS3, there’s sad news to report. Leslie Nielsen, star of amazingly hilarious films such as Airplane! and the Naked Gun series, died on Sunday in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at 84 years of age. Nielsen died at a hospital where he was being treated for pneumonia aka “the old people killer”. The New York Times has a good quick look into his life.

This truly is a sad day. During Nielsen’s reign, he released some of the best in movie parodies. Nowadays we have crap like Date Movie, Meet the Spartans, Disaster Movie and Vampires Suck, none of which have lived up to even five minutes worth of end credits from Airplane! or Naked Gun. Those movies had Leslie Nielsen rolling in his grave before he was even dead.
