Maksim Chmerkovskiy Denies Slapping Hope Solo

Hope Solo released a memoir titled, Solo: A Memoir of Hope. In it, she talked about her stint on Dancing With the Stars and how during rehearsal, her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy slapped her in the face hard while correcting her dance move.

“He manhandled me in rehearsals from the start, pushing me, whacking my stomach, bending my arms roughly. I thought that was just how it went — how dancers worked with each other,” the athlete wrote. “But it kept getting worse. One day, Maks was trying to put me in a certain position and hit my stomach so hard with his open palm that I had a red handprint there for the rest of the day.” Us Weekly

Solo said she didn’t make a big deal out of it because she didn’t want Maksim’s career to suffer. For his part, Maksim flat out denies the allegations that he ran his rehearsal like practice for the Chinese Olympic team.

Maksim tweeted, “Always hated hypocrites and liars, but when someone is both and an opportunist, I just feel bad for them. Can’t win at someone’s expense.” Sources added that Maksim was confused since they’ve had dinner several times after the show ended.

Hope Solo hasn’t responded yet. Most likely because Maksim was in front of her window pounding his fist into his palm making sure she keeps quiet.
