Over 30 artists involved in Project 2501 spent over a year to recreate 39 4K, live-action still frames from the title sequence of the 1995 anime Ghost in the Shell. Project creator Ash Thorp said of the labor of love that was released this week, “It was really tricky to find an indoor heated pool that would allow photography and nudity.”
Check out some of the stills below and the rest on the Project 2501 website. They seriously kick ass.
Thorp and fellow artists also released a short film detailing the work involved in this side project.
