It’s time to divert your attention, however briefly from the constant outpour of new Marvel movies, to focus on the TENTH Halloween remake. Normally I’d let out a groan. I mean, ten of the same movie seems excessive but Halloween is a classic, a great starting point and there are so many interpretations. Halloween is like the Romeo & Juliet of horror. And now John Carpenter will return to the franchise and rejuvenate it to its prime fright.
As per Entertainment Weekly, Carpenter reveals his intentions:
Thirty-eight years after the original Halloween I’m going to help to try to make the 10th sequel the scariest of them all.
And he’s going to use what worked for him the first time around with a twist. Son of the original producer, Malek Akkad will spearhead production. With Miramax and Blumhouse Productions bank rolling this bitch. Blumhouse exec, Jason Blum says this project is near and dear to his heart:
The great Malek Akkad and John Carpenter have a special place in the hearts of all genre fans and we are so excited that Miramax brought us together. We cannot wait to find and collaborate with the right filmmaker to give Halloween fans the movie they deserve.
But Carpenter has some vain intentions of his own.
Halloween needs to return to its traditions. I feel like the movies have gotten away from that… Michael is not just a human being; he’s a force of nature, like the wind. That’s what makes him so scary.
Can I star? But like can I actually die?
Since we don’t have a trailer for the new project, I’ll bring you back to where it all started.
I’m excited for a film that lets me feel something.
Outstanding series, can’t wait for the next one :)
