Nothing can stop the Marvel cinematic universe’s ball from rolling now that Disney is there to provide the lube. Captain America: Civil War has barely been out long enough to count box office totals and there are already whispers drumming up publicity for some other elusive Marvel tale. So here we go.
Sharon Stone came out of the shadows recently to have a sit down with James Corden where she may have dropped some hints about her totally confidential deal with the dominating force for all our superhero needs round the clock:
I’m just doing a wee part in a Marvel movie, upcoming, and I can’t tell, because you know, you have to sign confidentiality agreements. But I’m going to do a wee part in a Marvel movie now. That’s it.
Cinema Blend speculates that her emphasis on ‘wee’ suggests that she has been cast as The Wasp in the upcoming Ant Man and The Wasp. The Wasp, Janet van Dyne, has yet to be seen on screen and is largely assumed to be dead.
Janet Van Dyne only shows up for one scene in the original Ant-Man film from last year, and we as an audience never actually get to see her face. The mask of her Wasp outfit obscures her face in a flashback sequence with her husband Hank Pym, and she eventually sacrifices herself by going “subatomic” to stop a ballistic missile, so we never get a chance to see her again.
I need a second to breathe. How is a person supposed to keep up with Game of Thrones, a dependency on the interpersonal relationships of celebrities and an entire universe of superheroes and supervillians more complex than your brain on Vyvanse?
In semi-related news, here’s Sebastian Bach flirting with Stone.
