Mel Gibson Thinks We Should Get Over His Anti-Semitic Comments

On Variety’s “Playback” podcast, Mel Gibson spoke about his new film, Hacksaw Ridge and addressed his previous ant-semitic comments.

In 2006, Gibson was arrested for drunk driving and said “The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world!” In Mel’s opinion, that was ten years ago and he’s done apologizing.
Though he did say he was sorry after the incident, Mel blames alcohol and the cops as the cause.

“I was recorded illegally by an unscrupulous police officer who was never prosecuted for that crime. And then it was made public by him for profit, and by members of — we’ll call it the press. So, not fair. I guess as who I am, I’m not allowed to have a nervous breakdown, ever.”

Poor Mel, not allowed to have a breakdown, ever! He insists that he’s sober now and that whole affair should be forgotten. If it wasn’t for eight double shots of tequila, he would have never said such things. It’s understandable, since who hasn’t directed all the worlds problems at the Jews when they’ve had a few too many.

Gibson goes on to say “I’ve never discriminated against anyone or done anything that sort of supports that reputation.” Maybe he should ask Oksana Grigorieva if she’d back up that story.
