Mark Wahlberg Wants Celebrities to Shut Their Freaking Mouths When It Comes to Politics

Mark Wahlberg does not want to hear Lena Dunham’s opinion on the political climate of today.

In an interview, Mark said he was tired of celebrities talking about politics.

“A lot of celebrities did, do, and shouldn’t [talk about politics]. You know, it just goes to show you that people aren’t listening to that anyway. They might buy your CD or watch your movie, but you don’t put food on their table. You don’t pay their bills. A lot of Hollywood is living in a bubble. They’re pretty out of touch with the common person, the everyday guy out there providing for their family.”

Shockingly, Marky Mark is right. It’s not that celebrities need to censor themselves or that they have no right to their opinions, but it seems everyone is getting pretty sick of celebrities chiming in on things they have nothing to do with. And Hollywood is a bubble, it’s not reality. Hearing Gwyneth Paltrow talk about how excited she is for the adventure of a Trump presidency may not sit well with people dealing with actual problems.

Wahlberg went on to say that he does understand what normal people deal with. Being one of nine children, he claims he is grateful for his movie star life but also stays grounded with the people he came from. Whether or not that’s true is hard to say. But he sticks to his word about not talking politics. Early in the month when asked about the election, he merely implied he’d vote for Hillary and that was it.

So, and I’m shocked that I’m saying this, maybe take a cue from Mark Wahlberg and let celebrities keep a few of their opinions to themselves.
