Credit to James Van Der Beek for not whuppin’ some British TV ass. Van Der Beek stars in British TV’s Sky 1 family comedy Carters Get Rich. He plays a slimy American billionaire.
Van Der Beek stopped by the British talk show, This Morning, to pimp the series. Little did he know that he was there to be insulted.
The show’s hosts, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, started their introduction by pumping up all the accomplishments of former Dawson’s Creek actors, Katie Holmes, Michelle Williams and Joshua Jackson. Then Schofield went straight for the jugular.
“But what happened to the main man himself? Mr. James Van Der Beek. Well, he’s here now, and that’s what he looks like.”
Hey you putz, why haven’t you done anything with your life??
The producers next put up a side-by-side graphic of Van Der Beek from Dawson’s Creek days and a live shot of him in the studio. Shady.
Van Der Beek politely pushed back, noting that he’s “been on television the last 20 years, just to let you know.” He probably wanted to stick his foot up that host’s ass.
Schofield later asked “Would you have imagined now, that we’d still be discussing it all these years later?”
Van Der Beek replied that he never imagined he’d be sitting in front of a photo from 20 years ago. Polite all the way through, but Van Der Beek just murdered two British talking heads in his mind.
