The Rock and Vin Diesel Still Hate Each Other, Won’t Do Press Together

Fate of the Furious, the latest and greatest chapter in the Fast & Furious franchise, comes out in a couple of weeks. Along with a major movie release comes a movie press tour. But, unlike most press tours, the two stars of the movie had to be kept apart.

You see, The Rock and Vin Diesel don’t like each other. Vin Diesel is jealous that The Rock is the greatest man of all-time and The Rock isn’t jealous at all because he’s The Rock.

“They’re keeping them separated as much as possible,” says an insider.

That sequestering will be most obvious today when Universal brings footage of the film to CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where Diesel, Charlize Theron and the rest of the cast will be on hand to promote the eighth installment in the $4 billion franchise. That is minus Johnson, who is already back on the set of Ballers in Miami. But just 12 hours earlier, Johnson was in Las Vegas, participating in Paramount’s Baywatch presentation at CinemaCon. And Monday night, he introduced Sony’s Jumanji at the high-profile exhibition showcase.

I don’t see the issue here. The Rock is a busy man working a million different things. He already knows Fate of the Furious will draw millions of dollars without him appearing at some CinemaCon. It’s not The Rock’s fault that he has other things to promote. Maybe the rest of the cast shouldn’t rest on their laurels.

Wouldn’t it be better for the movie if Vin and Rock were together? Then, a fight may break out and people would be really interested in the movie. Keeping them separated is the dumbest thing the studio could do.

Then again, if I were the studio, I wouldn’t want to risk the star of the franchise getting his candy ass beat-up either.
