Sad news, ladies. Game of Thrones Kit Harrington, who portrays Jon Snow on the show, is engaged to Rose Leslie, who portrayed Ygritte.
I guess Jon Snow knows he loves Ygritte.
The two met on the show in 2012 and have been in love ever since. Except this past season where Jon was in love with his aunt or grandmother or however he’s related to the Mothers of Dragons.
The Snow-Ygritte story is one of the few stories from this show that I actually remember. Ygritte hesitated in killing Snow, got shot in the back, and then died in Snow’s arms. It was really lovely and I hope Harrington and Leslie have a better life than that.
Harrington talked about his relationship with Leslie to L’Uomo Vogue back in 2012:
“If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love.”
Jennifer Aniston nods.
Leslie better watch out, though. Now that Harrington’s love interest on the show is Emilia Clarke, she might be in some trouble. Unless Harrington only views Clarke as an aunt or grandmother or how the heck are these two related again? I don’t know if Leslie is dating anyone on-screen, but Harrington probably has less to worry about. Unless Leslie is dating Dominic Toretto, Jason Bourne, or anyone played by The Rock, I’ll put my money on Jon Snow in a fight.
Hopefully, they’re smart enough to not got married with their Game of Thrones co-stars around. It seems like bad things happen when all of them get together. Like, literally everyone dies when there are 20+ people from that show together. Maybe it’s a bad idea for these two to get married.
While Harrington is preparing for the final season of the show, Leslie is currently starring in The Good Fight. That sounds like a tame version of Game of Thrones.
