Emily Ratajkowski Is Taking Naked Polaroids Like It’s 1986

Emily Ratajkowski seems to have gotten a Polaroid camera, and she’s been using it the way people have been using Polaroid cameras since their inception: to take naked pictures of herself. Of course, she then scanned them and posted the to the internet, so one questions why she doesn’t just take naked pictures with her mobile phone like a normal person.

So artistic, not just anyone can take somewhat blurry, oversaturated naked pictures with a Polarooid camera. Wait, everyone? litereally everyone who has ever held a Polaroid camera has done exactly that?

The photos were from a photo shoot for Paper magazine. In an interview, she shot back at people who said her posting half-naked pictures of herself all over the internet was somehow not feminist, saying “I think that the whole idea that because the body I was given might play into some patriarchal idea, I should be ashamed of it or be covering it up is ridiculous. I find empowerment in celebrating and sharing my sexuality. I think my body is beautiful and a lot of different bodies are beautiful.” Amen, smash the patriarchy, sister.
