Will Smith Looks Super Weird in Our First Look at Disney’s Live Action ‘Aladdin’

After an exhaustive search, Disney managed to find maybe the only half-dozen or so East Asian actors who can both act and sing to be in their live-action adaptation of Aladdin. It’s really lucky that it worked out, because I don’t even know where you would start to look for someone with those talents from that general geographic area.

We got our first look at the film today from Entertainment Weekly and boy does something seem weird about Will Smith being the Genie.

I am not the only person who thought there was something off here.

Okay, okay, it could have been worse.

Wow, that is horrifying. At least that’s not real, it’d be really bad if he actually looked like that.

Goodnight everybody!

It actually turns out that the Genie is going to be CGI for most of the movie, and looking like a Will Smith Mr. Potatohead is just his human disguise. Which isn’t so bad, and I’m assuming the CGI isn’t ready yet. Hopefully, when it is ready, it looks better than what we’ve seen here. I mean, it can’t be worse, right? Right?

I just want to remind everyone that you don’t have to watch this just because Disney is making it, you can just watch the original Aladdin and pretend everything is still okay with the world.
