Jennette McCurdy Hated Doing ‘iCarly’

iCarly was a really popular Nickelodeon show, one of the most popular shows the network has ever aired. Jennette McCurdy was a big part of that success, and she even got her own spin-off with Ariana Grande, Sam & Cat, after the show ended.

She hated it.

it’s probably a bummer for fans of the show, but McCurdy hated every minute of the show and is embarrassed of having done it. Here’s what she told Anna Farris on her Empty Inside podcast, via The Huffington Post.

“I resent my career in a lot of ways. I feel so unfulfilled by the roles that I played and felt like it was the most cheesy, embarrassing. I did the shows that I was on from like 13 to 21, and by 15, I was already embarrassed. My friends at 15, they’re not like, ‘Oh, cool, you’re on this Nickelodeon show.’ It was embarrassing. And I imagine there’s a very different experience to be had with acting if you’re proud of your roles, and if you feel fulfilled by them,” she said.

That’s got to put a damper on the upcoming reboot of the show.

Do you even really want to watch a reboot of iCarly now? At this rate Paramount might have to come up with a new show based on an original idea or something.

Katherine Heigl v2.0. Pretty stupid take. It was a kids show, just be glad you had the job. Not like you have great other offers, right?! . It wasn’t fine art, but who cares. You just don’t pee in the watering hole and expect people to think you’re the victim of tainted water.
