Lebron James Wants a Do-Over, Afraid of Seen as Anti-American

Yesterday, LeBron James’ comments on Brittney Griner caused a ruckus and now he’s backtracking. James said Griner, after being hostage in Russia for so long without America rescuing her, would think twice about coming back to America.

From his podcast “The Shop: Uninterrupted”:

Now, how can she feel like America has her back? I would be feeling like, ‘Do I even want to go back to America?

You can imagine the uproar. This tweet was pretty much the reaction:

James realized this could hurt him so he tweeted out a clarification, just so you know he’s not anti-American:

He wrote:

My comments on “The Shop” regarding Brittney Griner wasn’t knocking our beautiful country. I was simply saying how she’s probably feeling emotionally along with so many other emotions, thoughts, etc inside that cage she’s been in for over 100+ days! Long story short #BringHerHome

Not sure if this really changes what he said. His clarification basically says she’d probably think twice about coming back to America, along with a whole bunch of other thoughts.

LeBron James is the wrong person for prisoner release.

For that, we need Kim Kardashian. Kardashian’s gotten more prisoners out than LeBron.
