Oh shut up, Madonna | The Blemish

Oh shut up, Madonna

By on August 27, 2009

In the middle of her concert in Bucharest on Wednesday, stopped to decry the discrimination of Gypsies. She told the audience, “It’s been brought to my attention that there’s a lot of discrimination against Romani and Gypsies in general in eastern Europe and that makes me very sad.” A few fans could be heard booing during her speech. Either because they didn’t like what she was saying or were pissed that they paid $100 just to listen to prattle on about whatever caught her attention that day. She continued, “We believe in freedom and equal rights for everyone!” This time to much more cheers. They were probably humoring her so she’d finally shut up and get on with the show.

Going to a Madonna concert is like going to church. The only difference is here you have to pay to listen to a sermon, the preacher is Madonna dressed in a grotesque costume, the hot dogs are $10 and you can’t steal from the collection plate.

Imagine that being booed for making polittical comments. Does anyone else think a Forign National that is there to perform should do that instead of being a nusiance? The US has freedom of speech but, the Bill of Rights does not extend to Americans in a Forign Country, their country, their laws. Before you jump on a soapbox and become indiginant put it in perspective that she was outside the US making inappropiate comments, no matter what you think or believe it is their country.

It’s time for this bimbo to keep her out spoken foul mouth shut and learn to take care of her children herself. Sean Penn’s best decision was to cut that trollop loose.

You Know, in Romania the truth is that romanian people are discriminated by gypsies, and that because these gypsies are so fuking violent. They insult you what ever the reason, they beat you and they even cut you for ten dollars. they are not the victims, the romanian are the victims, they get beaten and robbed and even killed. So, I’m sorry, but madonna does not know what she’s talking about.

I have been to a couple of Madonna concerts (including Stickey & Sweet last year in London) and believe me – it is nothing at all like going to church.

I don’t see anything wrong with standing up and calling out discrimination. It is unacceptable and not to be tolerated.

If any of the concert-goers were that turned off by a 45 second sentence in the middle of a spectacular concert, then they can leave. They can also go fuck themselves for supporting disgusting behavior.

Breaking news from 1989: Madonna filed for divorce from Sean Penn (twice), not the other way around. Also, good for her for speaking out against discrimination in any form. That’s not politics, that’s just basic humanity. The people there and here that think that’s offensive make themselves look like what they are- neanderthals.

Also, there may be a high crime rate within the gypsy population, I don’t know, but that doesn’t excuse blatant discrimination against a whole ethnicity. It just makes those doing it sink lower than whomever they are discriminating against. When my grandma was little, black people were prohibited from moving into her neighborhood. The reason given was the high crime rate among black people. Maybe it was true, but it was still absolutely wrong. No ifs, ands, or buts, people.

I’m sure you’ll tell me to shut up like you are Madonna, but it’s okay, it would be a badge of honor to be told to shut up by a bunch of knuckle-dragging troglodytes.
