New Details for ‘True Detective’ Season 2

Plot details for season 2 of the awesome-except-for-the-finale series True Detective have emerged. Colin Farrell is rumored to be a lock for one of the characters while Taylor Kitsch is just rumored. Meanwhile, The Playlist has vouched for Film Divider’s plot details for season 2.

The new mystery is to be kickstarted by the murder of Ray Caspar, City Manager of a fictional Californian city. From what I can gather, the new, partly invented map that Pizzolatto is drawing will be essential to his new story. As he teased, some months ago, part of the mystery will involve California’s transportation systems. This plot will involve a corrupt scheme to link North and South California with a high speed train, all in pursuit of profitable land ownership and lucrative federal grants.

Monorail. MONORAIL! Wait, no that’s Simpsons. The corruption scheme is believed to be “Chinatown”-esque though the occult will also come into play next season. Of the four central characters, two men and one woman will be from different branches of the state government who end up working together while the fourth will be the “villain”.

Exciting stuff since True Detective is on Game of Thrones levels of great shows. I just wish Alexandra Daddario would be a recurring character. She seemed to display a lot of range. *cups chest*
