A 26-year-old nurse, Amber Vinson, who provided care for the first Ebola patient in the US has tested positive for the virus. The first woman, Nina Pham, a nurse, is in “improved condition today.” The latest victim is “ill but clinically stable.” She was among the people who took care of Thomas Eric Duncan, a man who died after contracting Ebola in Liberia. It’s unclear how Pham contracted the virus, but it’s believed Vinson contracted it from improper usage of protective gear.
The new patient will be transferred to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta later today.
