‘American Sniper’ Fake Baby Controversy

Pulling in $100m on its opening weekend can’t save American Sniper from the arrows of critics. Some find snipers cowardly, others think it’s too pro-war, but everyone has picked up on the fake baby controversy. Turns out director Clint Eastwood didn’t have any options for live babies, so fake baby made an appearance, pissing off the waiters and waitresses who’ve spent years hoping for some screen time.

There’s Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller using their thespian skills to pretend they aren’t holding a ‘Made in China’ piece of molded plastic. Screenwriter Jason Hall later deleted a tweet that said ” hate to ruin the fun but real baby #1 showed up with a fever. Real baby #2 was no show. (Clint voice) Gimme the doll, kid.”

That baby really distracts for sure. It’s like putting Ricky Gervais in the role of sniper Chris Kyle. You ain’t gonna buy it.
