After Brock Turner’s father wrote a letter lamenting how unfair it is that his Stanford rapist son is getting 6 months (but expected to be released in 3) for 20 minutes of action, everyone believed him to be the braindead one in the family. Turns out that’s not true at all. Everyone in his family is braindead including his mother. It takes a village after all.
In another poorly thought out plea for leniency, we find out Brock’s mom, Carleen Turner, had also penned a letter. She made no mention of the victim but did mention Brock’s swimming scholarship and not being able to put up happy family photos in their new house. Because they can no longer be happy. Because their son raped a woman.
“My first thought upon wakening every morning is ‘this isn’t real, this can’t be real. Why him? Why HIM? WHY? WHY?’,” she wrote oblivious to the fact that the woman Brock raped may think the same waking up every morning.
Plus, it’s not Brock’s fault this rape of an unconscious woman happened. He was only “trying to fit in with the swimmers he idolized.” He’s a victim of peer pressure and rape culture!
I mean, how dare you ruin this guy’s life when all he did was drag a highly intoxicated girl behind a dumpster to rape her! “No NCAA Championships. No Stanford degree, no swimming in the Olympics (and I honestly know he would have made a future team), no medical school, no becoming an Orthopedic surgeon.”
Brock will never survive jail either. Even his mom thinks he’ll be passed around like a pack of Marlboros. “I beg of you, please don’t send him to jail/prison. Look at him. He won’t survive it. He will be damaged forever and I fear he would be a major target. Stanford boy, college kid, college athlete — all the publicity. This would be a death sentence for him.”
Ultimately, Brock will have to register as a Tier 3 sex offender which did not sit well with mom. “Brock will have to register at the highest tier which means he is on the same level as a pedophile/child molester. There is no differentiation. The public records will reflect a Tier 3 so people will wrongly assume he is a child molester. I fear for his lifelong safety.”
It takes an amazing strength of will to not mention the girl he raped and to blindly believe the excuse Brock made up about being afraid of two Swedish boys.
Brock Turner and his family are so separated from reality that you’d think they were trolling us on purpose.
