As if dying at the age of 53 isn’t sad enough, George Michael’s boyfriend has revealed that his death is even more tragic.
The pop icon died alone on Christmas morning, only for his body to be discovered by his boyfriend of several years, hairdresser Fadi Fawaz. Fawaz was on his way to meet him so they could get Christmas lunch together, and found him dead in his bed of cardiac arrest.
It’s been rumored over the past year that Michael has been battling a heroin addiction, and this is a common cause of death in heroin users.
Despite that being denied by his lawyers, according to a source that spoke to The Telegraph:
“He’s been rushed to A&E on several occasions. He used heroin. I think it’s amazing he’s lasted as long as he has.”
In his last years he lived a semi-reclusive life with few appearances, and was known for being generous and kind. RIP George Michael.
