Miss Netherlands Dances to ‘Single Ladies,’ Other Contestants Stand Like the Beautiful Statues They Were Trained To Be

A moment of actual life and energy at the 2017 Miss Universe Pageant. Of course, it wasn’t on TV.

While waiting around for who knows what, Miss Netherlands can’t resist dancing to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies.”

The rest of the women stand almost motionless, only moving to blink or give the occasional wave, while Miss Netherlands tries to find the real woman inside of her. The woman that likes to dance and move and do more than stand up straight and smile for three hours.

You can tell that Miss Netherlands is one champagne cocktail away from busting out all the moves and taking over the stage in an act of freedom and desperate boredom. But instead, she dances in her place, finding a moment of joy in the female objectification contest.

Unfortunately, Miss France took the crown, but Miss Netherlands wins for showing a moment of human personality.
