Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington Commits Suicide on Chris Cornell’s Birthday

Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington committed suicide on Thursday. He was 41.

Bennington was found hanged in a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles. The news is especially heartbreaking as it comes two months after Chris Cornell’s suicide and happened on Cornell’s birthday. Bennington was close with the Soundgarden frontman, writing him a letter following his suicide and performing at his funeral. There’s definitely some illuminati theorist at work over this one.

He leaves behind six children.

Bennington struggled with drugs and alcohol throughout his life. He’s also been open about the possibility of suicide stemming from childhood abuse.

This news sucks for everyone, but especially those my age who grew up blasting Linkin Park in their room and car. Hybrid Theory and Meteora went hard. Their collaboration with Jay-Z is one of the best rap/rock mash-ups I’ve ever heard.

RIP Chester.
