Outback Steakhouse: Satanic Cult or Just Terrible Resturaunt?

Sometimes all it takes is a single silly tweet to go viral for a major brand to weigh in on whether or not it’s part of a Satanic cult. And that’s exactly what happened over the weekend when a Twitter user noticed a pattern in Outback Steakhouse locations around major cities.

I mean, those really do look like heavily misshapen pentagrams, a symbol associated with Satanism and witchcraft. Pentagram comes from the Latin penta, meaning “five,” and gram, meaning “white people overreact to the dumbest s**t.”

It wasn’t long before other Twitter users weighed in, spotting Outback pentagrams in their own cities.

This map of North Carolina shows six Outbacks, but luckily we still went with pentagram instead of a six-pointed star which would have gotten all the idiots with Pepe the Frog avatars taking this seriously.

And someone checked McDonald’s locations and came up with this disturbing example, proving that there is indeed something sinister going on here.

Outback Steakhouse actually weighed in on this, because they have a social media intern they pay to name search their restaurant so why not.

I’m gonna be honest, Outback, this is not a good joke. We’re not laughing with you on this. This tweet is to jokes what the narrators in your commercials are to Australian accents. Also, I’m not sure if you know this, but the Australian Outback is a desolate wasteland that’s sparsely inhabited and overrun by deadly fauna, so good choice on imagery for your fast casual restaurant.
