Stone has no problem going in for a hug while another man is kissing his wife, so why is she so hesitant to hug J-Law?
Maybe Emma is now too good for Jennifer. After all, Stone, not Lawrence, was named the highest paid actress of 2017. It’s possible that Emma just doesn’t have time for any of that old money. She’s all about new money.
My favorite part is Sarah Silverman in the background, not even bothering to go in for a hug. She sees the way J-Law is rejected and just says, “No thanks, I’m not getting embarrassed on Instagram.”
I’m sure there’s some boring and logical explanation for Stone backing off. She probably just went to the bathroom and forgot to wash or hands. Or maybe J-Law had something in her teeth and she didn’t have the heart to tell her. This will make for a funny story on a late night talk show and we’ll all move on.
Or, we can just admit that Emma Stone hates Jennifer Lawrence for always trying to out-awkward and out-funny her at award shows. There can only be one cute, smart, awkwardly awesome Hollywood star and it’s going to be Emma Stone, dammit.
