Dakota Johnson is set to star in the upcoming remake of horror film Suspira. The original film came out in 1977 and is about an American ballerina heading to Germany to attend a prestigious dance school. Once there, she learns its dark secrets.
In an interview with Elle, Johnson revealed that film was so intense and that she needed professional help after wrapping.
“[Filming Suspiria], no lie, fucked me up so much that I had to go to therapy. We were in an abandoned hotel on top of a mountain. It had 30 telephone poles on the roof, so there was electricity pulsating through the building, and everyone was shocking each other. It was cold as s**t, and so dry.”
I’m calling B.S. She was clearly overdue for therapy after filming the 50 Shades trilogy and this is just a convenient excuse to promote the upcoming horror flick. I see through your game, Dakota.
Suspira was directed by Luca Guadagnino, who was nominated for an Oscar for his work on Call Me By Your Name. Chloe Grace Moretz also stars in the film. Here’s the trailer for the 1977 version in case you’re not sold just yet.
The 2018 version is set to release in the fall. It sounds like a shocking good time.
