Paris Hilton Compares Making Half a Million Dollars on a Sex Tape to Being Raped

Paris Hilton has a very famous celebrity sex tape. It was released by Red Light District Video under the title 1 Night in Paris, which lead to a kind of booming Z-list celebrity porn tape that included movies from Amy Fisher and Dustin Diamond, along with a surprising hot video of former WWE superstars X-Pac and Chyna called 1 Night in China, who actually took a trip to China for the video since Vince McMahon owns the name Chyna.

1 Night in Paris made a lot of money, and Paris Hilton got almost half a million dollars of it in a settlement with her “co-star” Rick Salomon to resolve lawsuits the two had brought against each other.

Paris previously told Piers Morgan she “never saw a dime” from the video, but I find that hard to believe. It’s $400,000, you’re going to pick that check up even if you are Paris Hilton. Turns out that just forgetting about nearly ten times the median salary in the United States isn’t even the dumbest claim Hilton made about the video.

According to USA Today, Paris was interviewed for a documentary called The American Meme in which she compared making half a million dollars for agreeing to be recorded having consensual sex to being raped.

“It was like being raped,” she says in the documentary. “It felt like I’d lost part of my soul and been talked about in such cruel and mean ways. I literally wanted to die at some points. I was like, ‘I just don’t want to live,’ because I thought everything was taken away from me. I didn’t want to be known as that.”

She went on to say that The Simple Life being cancelled was the moral equivalent of the Armenian genocide and the time she went to McDonald’s and couldn’t get that dipping sauce from the cartoon as “basically the same as the Holodomor.” Okay, she didn’t actually say that, but they’re really no more outlandish than what she actually did say.

Now, of course having a sex tape released without your consent is violating, but let’s be real here; Red Light is a legitimate business and Hilton could have blocked the release of the tape if she had really wanted to. She figured that she may as well get paid for it in case it gets leaked anyway.

While I haven’t seen the film yet, The American Meme also appears to cast Josh Ostrovsky, a.k.a. The Fat Jewish, as a brilliant social media marketer when everyone else in the world sees him as a joke thief who built his brand by reposting other people’s content without giving them credit. It appears to be a puff piece to make “social media influencers,” the worst people in the world, look like inspirational heroes we should strive to emulate. So it’s really no surprise Paris Hilton gets to say something this dumb unchallenged.
