Ninja Doesn’t Play Video Games With Girls to Avoid Rumors, Cooties

Tyler Blevins, who goes by the handle “Ninja” online, is probably the biggest Twitch streamer in the world. He makes millions of dollars doing it and he has a legion of fans. He also plays Fortnite with some huge celebrities, like Drake and Travis Scott. But he doesn’t play games with girls, who are yucky.

Video of Ninja announcing he doesn’t play video games with girls.

Yes, Blevins told Polygon there’s no room for women in on his stream because, and I’m not making this up, he’s married and if he was seen talking to a woman in public, people might talk. Seriously.

“If I have one conversation with one female streamer where we’re playing with one another, and even if there’s a hint of flirting, that is going to be taken and going to be put on every single video and be clickbait forever,” Blevins told Polygon.

Now, I want to state, for the record, that I understand that Blevins is free to have anyone he wants on his stream and to live his life in any way he chooses. So when you’re writing your angry comments calling me a cuck or whatever dumb new insult you’ve come up with, know that I do understand the concept, I just find his logic to be idiotic and misogynist, and saying “well, he’s allowed to do what he wants” is such a bottom-of-the-barrel moronic response that Ian Miles Cheong could come up with it.

Here’s the problem, as I see it; Ninja has a huge audience and having other streamers on is going to help them raise their profile and build heir own audience and give them a lot of exposure. And he’s explicitly stating he’s not going to give that kind of opportunity to women. That’s a shitty thing to do. And saying he’s doing it to be respectful to his wife doesn’t make him not shitty. What it makes him is a cowardly misogynist.

Yes, that’s right, it’s misogynist and it perpetuates all sorts of outdated ideas about gender, women and society in general. Imagine for a second that Blevins wasn’t some dork playing video games and instead was, oh, I don’t know, Vice President of the United States, and he said he wouldn’t do business with women because it’s improper. Or imagine he managed a Wendy’s and refused to hire women because he “didn’t want to put his wife through that.” Are you starting to see why this is bad and why Ninja is a pud?

The bottom line is that Twitch streaming and video gaming in general already have a reputation as a boys’ club, and having the biggest guy in the field hand a “No Girls Allowed” sign outside his clubhouse isn’t helping.

… He doesn’t want people to make clickbait videos about how he’s “flirting” with other streamers, I’m concerned for you. He as you said is probably the most watched Twitch Streamer, he has to be ULTRA careful with everything he does. Don’t take this out of context.
