Chrissy Teigen Fires Back at Mommy Shamers

Chrissy Teigen, the universally acknowledged Queen of Social Media Comebacks, is back to delight us all once more. Chrissy Teigen’s husband, John Legend, recently posted this lovely photo on his Instagram of his family backstage at NBC.

The average person would regard this as a cute family photo, like, and move on. But it was only a matter of time before the Mommy Brigade rolled in. This pissant took one look at this photo and decided to chime in with this charming comment:

“You no longer breastfeed?”

First of all, Chrissy Teigen has never made it a secret that she does indeed breastfeed, as evidenced here:

Secondly, WHY DOES IT EVEN MATTER? She could have pumped and bottled her breast milk. Or maybe, just maybe, she decided to give her baby (gasp!) formula that day! Despite what some of these hippy dippy mommy bloggers might say, baby formula is not poison nor is it a crime. And thirdly, this was JOHN LEGEND’s photo, not Chrissy Teigen’s. It makes no sense to direct this idiotic comment at him. Which led to this gem from Teigen herself:

“John never breastfed Miles.”

I’m not a parent, but I do know that mommy shamers are not new. However, like most irritating sub-groups, the internet has provided a platform for them to be louder and more obnoxious than ever, sanctimommies included. Frankly, I don’t know how these parents find the time to trawl social media to insult strangers on their parenting skills. These are usually the same people who talk about how busy they are as perfect parents, yet have plenty of time to spend online bragging about how their kids have never been vaccinated and that they’re still breastfeeding their third grader.
