The Number of Porn Stars Running for President has Dropped to 0, At Least Until Bernie’s Sex Tape Drops

Did you know there was a porn star running for president? Neither did I, and she’s been running for 17 months. Her name is Cherie DeVille, as she’s actually not the worst Democratic candidate I’ve heard of. Here’s how The Washington Examiner describes her platform.

A fan of the libertarian Reason magazine and socialist Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, DeVille advocates marijuana legalization, free education, gun control, and government-mandated net neutrality. She opposes President Trump.

Nothing on that list is bad. I think she was better than Beto, at any rate. She also had the best plan to gather donations, but she said that Stormy Daniels beat her to the punch.

When Daniels announced a “Make America Horny Again” strip tour, DeVille decided her own plan to give lap dances to raise campaign funds was no longer feasible.

It’s a shame, I would have loved to have given her campaign a large donation.

DeVille seems to be ending her presidential bid because of the threats of violence she’s received.

“People got crazy, mean, violent,” she said. “Perhaps that happens to all political candidates … but I don’t have the money for bodyguards.”

[…]

“If we step out of our lane as — pardon my language — whores, now we are a problem and people don’t like it, in a way that I didn’t understand,” she said.

I mean, I get it, I’ve been on Twitter. But normally to get the kind of hate that DeVille describes, you have to write a book for teenagers.

Maybe the best part of this story, though is that DeVille, the porn star, isn’t the first person to drop out of the 2020 race. Richard Ojeda left his post as a state senator in West Virginia to run for president, only to end his campaign 11 days later.

But it’s not all bad for DeVille, she was named MILF Performer of the Year at the AVN awards. Although Stormy Daniels winning Mainstream Performer of the Year probably stole her thunder. Again. Do porn stars have rivals? Because I smell a rivalry.

It’s traditional for candidates to endorse someone still in the race when they drop out, and DeVille is nothing if not traditional. She endorsed Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, who has yet to formally announce his candidacy.
