Extremely Perceptive Singer Billie Eilish Says She’s ‘Felt Very Hated’

The BRIT Awards were last night, because one night of the world’s mediocre-est musicians patting themselves on the back at the Grammys just wasn’t enough.

Billie Eilish won Best International Female Solo Artist, an award with so many qualifiers to it that it sounds like a participation trophy. In her acceptance speech, Eilish talked about how she feels hated, per The New York Post.

“I’ve felt very hated recently. And, when I was on the stage and I saw you guys all smiling at me,” Eilish said breathlessly. “It genuinely made me wanna cry. And I wanna cry right now, so thank you.”

Don’t worry, Billie, no one hates you; we just hate the things you say and the way you act and your music.

But in a rather cool move, she previously admitted on the BBC that dunking on people online is funny.

She went to say that “the internet is just a bunch of trolls, you know? And the problem is that a lot of it is really funny. I think that’s the issue — that’s why nobody really stops, because it’s funny.”

Just as an example, were I to post a still image from the 90s Nickelodeon cartoon Doug where the title character was wearing an oversized suit and accompany it with a quip like “I knew Billie Eilish looked familiar,” that would be pretty funny.

See? And that wasn’t even that mean. I didn’t even mention that her hairstyle seems to be modeled on a blonde Pepe LePew.
