If you’re not familiar with the QAnon conspiracy theory, I have some quick bullet points that I need to give you before we get into this story. Basically, an alarming number of adult humans have taken as gospel a random 4chan poster who claimed that Donald Trump was secretly working behind the scenes to bring down a cabal of Satan-worshiping child molesters who were all conveniently in the political party the believers of the conspiracy voted against.
Ultimately, the storm never came because Donald Trump is just a mediocre businessman who ran an inept presidential administration and there isn’t a secret cabal of powerful pedophiles led by Tom Hanks and Nancy Pelosi draining children’s adrenal glands to extant their own lives. Or something.
There is a scandal involving a government figure and child pornography, though it’s not exactly what the Q people thought it would be.
Kellyanne Conway, Donald Trump’s former campaign manager and senior advisor, posted a naked picture of her 16-year-old daughter on Twitter, using the social media website’s new “Fleets” feature. Or at least someone posted said picture to Conway’s account.
See, Conway’s daughter Claudia, who has become something of an Internet celebrity for speaking against her mother’s politics, initially blamed her mother, saying “nobody would ever have any photo like that, ever. So, Kellyanne, you’re going to fucking jail.” Now, Kellyanne likely won’t be going to jail, a topless picture probably doesn’t actually qualify as child pornography even if the subject is underage; if it did, everyone who watched American Beauty would be in jail. But we’re still not going to host or link to the picture, you perverts.
Claudia changed her mind later, though, with TMZ reporting she posted a video defending her mother and saying she would never do anything like post a naked picture of her daughter on social media.
Claudia said, “We fight like mothers and daughters but we love like mothers and daughters.” She also underscored the fact the video she posted is not being forced … adding, “It’s coming from me.” She implored people worried about her to not call the authorities and for others to “please stop sending hate to my family … I’m okay. We are okay.”
