In a move that surprised absolutely no one, attention-seeking comedian Pete Davidson has checked himself into rehab for in-patient therapy, citing the need to address ongoing issues related to post-traumatic stress disorder and borderline personality disorder. The self-proclaimed “troubled” comic, known for his public revelations about his mental health struggles, is apparently on a quest for fresh material to exploit in future comedy skits.

Sources close to the situation have confirmed that Davidson’s decision to seek treatment has less to do with genuine concern for his well-being and more to do with his insatiable desire for attention. “Pete will often check himself into rehab to work on these ‘issues’,” said a friend of the comedian. “He knows it’s a great opportunity to generate headlines and sympathy, which in turn translates into material for his stand-up routines.”

Davidson has never been one to shy away from discussing his personal struggles on public platforms. In fact, during a guest appearance on Marc Maron’s “WTF” podcast, he revealed his diagnosis of borderline personality disorder and even shared details about his time in rehab. It seems he has mastered the art of leveraging his emotional turmoil for laughs and public sympathy, all in the pursuit of maintaining his relevance in the entertainment industry.

The comedian has made headlines in the past with his candid remarks about sobriety and mental health during his stint on Saturday Night Live. While some might question the appropriateness of using personal struggles for attention, Davidson sees it as fair game, joking about it on “Weekend Update”.

As some of you may know, I was recently diagnosed with borderline personality disorder—a form of depression. Depression affects more than 16 million people in this country, and there’s no cure, per se. But for anyone dealing with it, there are treatments that can help. First of all, if you think you’re depressed, see a doctor and talk to them about medication. And also be healthy: Eating right and exercise can make a huge difference.

Finally, if you’re in the cast of a late-night comedy show, it might help if they, you know, do more of your comedy sketches. I was born depressed, but it might make me feel better if I was on TV more!

Of course, opening up, as a celebrity, can be genuine. But can you trust any celeb isn’t always playing the game? The world has made me too cynical, lol.
