Dr. Dre Apologizes for Hurting Women, Not Sorry for Being So Gangsta

You can beat up women and still become a multi-millionaire. Who says America isn’t the land of opportunity? Dr. Dre made millions from his misogynistic raps and ultimately, stacks and stacks from overpriced Chinese headphones. Along the way, he broke a few female faces by smashing them into walls and other inanimate objects. But wait, he’s sorry now. In a statement to The New York Times:

“Twenty-five years ago I was a young man drinking too much and in over my head with no real structure in my life. However, none of this is an excuse for what I did. I’ve been married for 19 years and every day I’m working to be a better man for my family, seeking guidance along the way. I’m doing everything I can so I never resemble that man again.”

He should’ve brought out his wife on camera as proof and had her say, “Dr. Dre hasn’t hit me once in 19 years!” Then she’d nervously look over to Dr. Dre and mouth “Did I do ok?”

Here’s a picture of his wife, Nicole Threatt. Dr. Dre has never assaulted her. Allegedly.

Dre’s statement continues:

“I apologize to the women I’ve hurt. I deeply regret what I did and know that it has forever impacted all of our lives.”

Pssh. “Impacted”? Here’s what happened to Dee Barnes, one woman Dre “impacted”.

According to a statement issued by Barnes, Dre picked her up and “began slamming her face and the right side of her body repeatedly against a wall near the stairway” as his bodyguard held off the crowd. After Dre tried to throw her down the stairs and failed, he began kicking her in the ribs and hands. She escaped and ran into the women’s restroom. Dre followed her and “grabbed her from behind by the hair and proceeded to punch her in the back of the head.” Finally, Dre and his bodyguard ran from the building.

Here’s how it impacted Dr. Dre:

The pain is real for Dre. Walking around his 18,000 square foot house with all that regret can be hard. Luckily, a #1 movie can make him feel better.
