‘Stranger Things’ Shannon Purser Wants ‘Squirrel Girl’ to Be Her Next Project

If you’re a person on the face of this planet, you know some things are for certain in August 2016. Those things in order are, my birthday, Netflix’s Stranger Things and all things related to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

We could spend the rest of forever discussing the importance of my birth month and my impact on the world since my conception, but that’s what I have a Twitter account for. So let’s turn our attention (though let’s make sure it’s temporary, my birthday is very important) to Stranger Things actress Shannon Purser,. Purser, according to her IMBD page and fun-loving fans, plays Big Butt Barb. But now that Big Butt Barb’s story line has reached a temporary end, Purser needs to pursue some kind of other roles to maintain employment.

And it seems like Purser has the kind of type-A personality that has her eye on the prize.

This is a girl that’s just all about Squirrel Girl. There’s the non-sequitur into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an interview with Revelist, Purser minces no words in her desire to be cast as the squirrelly girl:

I think Squirrel Girl is just adorable but at the same time is totally boss and completely awesome. I think people need a character like that. It’s easy in the superhero realm to feel like a lot of the female superheroes we see are grown women who are super responsible and know what their purpose is and that kind of thing. Squirrel Girl is a little bit younger and like a real person, trying to figure out her life and then also having to save the world. I love that.

Marvel, can you get on this? You seem to love announcing things? Just announce Squirrel Girl is coming out in some distant year.
