It’s getting hot in herrrrr for Nelly as the rapper has been arrested for allegedly raping a woman.
TMZ says that the alleged rape occurred on Nelly’s tour bus, which was parked in a Walmart parking lot in Washington. As if we needed more proof that nothing good ever happens in a Walmart parking lot. The alleged rape reportedly took place on Saturday morning at 3:48 AM with the victim specifically naming Nelly.
Nelly was booked on the charges a few hours later, but released shortly after.
His accuser claims that she met Nelly at a club, went back to his tour bus with him, and turned down his offer for sex. When she said no, he told her to “shut up” before having sex with her. She was offered money by Nelly, but declined. That’s when Nelly kicked her off the bus and threw $100 at her. Classy.
Here’s what his lawyer told TMZ:
“Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation, clearly establishes the allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once the scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”

This tweet is important because note the timestamp. He tweeted that at 3:23 AM on Saturday morning, roughly 25 minutes before the alleged rape occurred. While it doesn’t prove anything either way, it does confirm that Nelly was up at that hour. Should this go to court, expect this tweet to play a big role in the trial.
