Lady Gaga collapses in Indiana

Before Lady Gaga was to hit the stage in West Lafayette, Indiana, she collapsed and passed out. Her physician advised her not to continue, but they only announced after the two opening acts were finished that Gaga’s performance had to be canceled. Probably so as to avoid a riot. Gaga tweeted:

“Paramedics came to take care of me, and told me my heart-rate was irregular– a result of exhaustion and dehydration,” she wrote. “Can’t apologize enough for how sorry I am. I could hear my fans cheering from my dressing room, I begged everyone to let me go onstage.”

“My stage has complicated mechanical elements, everyone was concerned I’d be in danger during the 2hr show, since I had passed out earlier. “I am so devastated. I have performed with the flu, a cold, strep throat: I would never cancel a show just based on discomfort.”

Wait, wait. Complicated mechanical elements? Possibly even involving pyrotechnics? I thought Lady Gaga lived for this stuff. She could have been dancing like one of those monsters in a Guillermo del Toro movie and caught her hair on fire after she fainted and the sparks shooting out of her head while she attempted to stop, drop and roll would have quite possibly made it one of the best performances ever. Ever! Lady Gaga really missed the boat on this one.
