Kim Kardashian has been threatening to leave Instagram ever since people made a big fuss about their recent policy change that seemed to allow the company to sell user photos to outside companies to use in advertisements without notifying or compensating the user.
Now, Kim, who is possibly one of the top 10 if not one of the top Instagram user based on number of followers, is thinking about going to a rival company. She told TMZ, “I just don’t think they should have the right to sell [our photos] to advertising companies on our behalf. What if we don’t want to advertise what they want?” She adds, “I just hope they revise it.”
First of all, what Kim doesn’t seem to understand is Instagram’s original TOS already sort of had the ability to do just this. For whatever reason, it’s only becoming a big deal now after they were bought out by Facebook and revised their TOS to a more narrow definition.
Still, since Kim and everyone was making a big commotion about it, Instagram backtracked and changed the controversial portion of their TOS back to the old one. Which, as The Verge points out, is actually worse because it’s much broader than the new one.
In essence, Kim won her fight against Instagram but actually may have lost in the grand scheme of things. Uh, congratulations?
She should make more sex tapes
