The 2013 MTV Movie Awards

Last night was the 2013 MTV Movie Awards. A hugely irrelevant event awards wise but somewhat culturally significant what with the up and coming and fringe celebrities. Not a lot happened except for Aubrey Plaza of Parks and Rec trying to steal Will Ferrell’s Comedic Genius Golden Popcorn.

Plaza had a glass of liquor in her hand as she ran up on stage and tried to wrestle the golden popcorn from Will. It wasn’t happening so she sauntered off into her seat and dropped her drink on the ground. It was a good way to market her new movie The Todo List which she had scrawled on her chest.

MTV swears it wasn’t scripted and told her to leave shortly after. Fans compared the incident to Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift albeit much more awkward and silent. It was like being accosted by a deaf person.

Other than that, yawn. Naturally, The Avengers won for best movie, Bradley Cooper won for being so handsome, Jennifer Lawrence wasn’t there but she did win best kiss with Bradley Cooper and won for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook.

Then there was the red carpet. A few people you should pay attention to:

• Melanie Iglesias: Best dressed at the awards show because just click on the link, dude.
• Kim Kardashian: She looked like a bat.
• Hana Mae: She was wearing a 10-gallon stubbed out cigarette for a hat.
• Hayley Williams: For dressing up as Raggedy Ann? Or an Astronaut Popsicle.

Then there was the men which weren’t as exciting except for Zachary Quinto looking faaaabulous in his powder blue suit.
