Gwyneth Paltrow wants to see how the other half lives and decided to take the #FoodBankNYCChallenge.
Paltrow accepted the #FoodBankNYCChallenge from advocate Mario Batali, the celebrity chef who also challenged Sting and Debbie Harry to give it a go.
For seven sparse days, Paltrow will dine on a budget of $1.38 per meal, the average cost for those living on food stamps, or SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program). The motivation for the challenge is the threat of cuts to the program, as the Food Bank of New York City writes on its official website, “Congress cut food stamps twice since 2013, and soup kitchens and food pantries saw an immediate increase in visitors. New Yorkers can’t afford any cuts to Food Stamps.”
You know what else New Yorkers can’t afford? That overpriced crap on her website, GOOP. People should protest her acting like a queen so kind enough to come down from her ivory tower and join the masses.
Meanwhile, in her back pocket, collecting money from idiots dumb enough to pay for her designer crap.
She probably didn’t even wanna do this challenge, but saw it as a good chance to lose weight and fake being nice. You know, kill two birds with one overpriced gemstone.
