Add this to my list of weird irrational fears. Apparently, you can get trapped inside of an ATM? That sounds like a money-filled nightmare.
To be fair, the man in question was a technician. He had a reason to be back there. I had to look up the workings of ATMs, but there’s a little closet behind some of them where the money and machinery is housed. This particular technician figured it was an in and out job, so he jumped of his truck, leaving his phone behind, and went to do his thing.
I can feel you flinching. Always take your phone kids. Of course, this is the time that the door locked behind him, and he got stuck inside.
He got the ATM working, and people were getting money out of it, so he had an idea. He wrote a note and slipped it through the slot saying, “Please Help. I’m stuck in here, and I don’t have my phone. Please call my boss.” People thought it was a joke at first, but when they presumably heard the noises coming out of it and realized it wasn’t haunted, they called the police.
“Everyone is okay, but you will never see this in your life, that somebody was stuck in the ATM, it was just crazy,” said Richard Olden, the senior officer on the scene.
Always, always, always take your phone kids.
