Tinder Matches Finally Meet After Sending Ten Messages in Three Years

Josh Avsec and Michelle Arendas met each other on Tinder three years ago. Instead of having wild sex after a couple of messages, the two never met.

Given their lack of actual conversation, the two had no reason to call Catfish because they weren’t in love. Also, they live on the same campus. They could have met multiple times, but, like most college kids, were just too lazy. Here’s what Arendas told PEOPLE about why they didn’t meet.

“I’m stubborn and I wasn’t going to be the one to ruin a good joke like that. I’m stubborn and I’m committed to my sense of humor, that was definitely it for me. I didn’t want to be the one to break the joke.”

Instead, they met on Good Morning America.

On top of that, Tinder offered them a week long trip to anywhere in the world for their first date.

Are you kidding me? They sent ten messages in three years and managed to con Tinder into giving them a week in Hawaii? This is why the internet is magically stupid. Every catfish in the world right now is thinking, “This plan is way better than being on MTV for an hour.”

At least Arendas is smart enough not to commit.

“We waited three years to send each other 10 messages so I think we need more than 30 minutes to be able to answer that question effectively. But I dunno, I guess we’ll see in the next few weeks.”

At worst, she got a week in Hawaii for wasting two minutes of her life sending five messages in three years. I think that’s worth it.
