Ric Flair Will Wrestle His Way Out of Death

Living in North Carolina, I can tell you all about Ric Flair. I can tell you that the whole state is in mourning right now over the possibility of losing Ric Flair.

Flair, 68, was admitted to the hospital over the weekend for what was originally specified as “routine maintenance” but that was a clear cover up as ‘The Nature Boy’ is now in a medically-induced coma due to heart issues. Flair’s management at Legacy Talent Agency issued the following statement:

“We need your prayers, positive energy, and well wishes for our Living Legend as he is dealing with some tough medical issues.”

Flair underwent some type of surgery, but the situation remains serious.

This cannot happen. I cannot lose Ric Flair. As a huge wrestling fan growing up in Virginia and North Carolina, I have nothing but fond memories of Flair. Alright, sure, there are those memories of him needing money and only wrestling because he’s been divorced 20 times and owes his ex-wives millions of dollars. And there were the DUI charges. And he does seem like kind of a scumbag based on every report I’ve ever read. But on-screen, it’s nothing but fond memories. And that’s what really matters, right?

Flair having heart issues would be pretty ironic given a 1990’s WCW storyline where he was admitted to the hospital for a heart attack. He was also admitted to the mental institution. And then he was left for dead in a desert. Wrestling is extremely weird and stupid. But it’s also the best sport ever.

Oh yeah, Flair didn’t actually have a heart attack in the storyline. It was just food poisoning.

Hopefully, this is just food poisoning. The whole state of North Carolina is going to shutdown if we lose the 16-time world champion. Even people who don’t like wrestling love Ric Flair and understand what he means to the state.

And to lighten the mood, here’s Flair stripping:
