Mara Martin wasn’t going to let work get in the way of her kid’s nutrition.
Partaking in the Sports Illustrated Swim Search runway show, Martin strutted her stuff while breastfeeding her five-month-old daughter.
Martin wore a gold bikini while her young child modeled a green diaper and noise-canceling headphones. The cheers from the crowd likely got through anyway.
Chosen as one of the 16 finalists from the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine, Martin shared her excitement on Instagram prior to the show.
After the show, she returned to the social media platform to express how she felt following her breastfeeding model walk went viral.
I can’t believe I am waking up to headlines with me and my daughter in them for doing something I do every day. It is truly so humbling and unreal to say the least. I’m so grateful to be able to share this message and hopefully normalize breastfeeding and also show others that women CAN DO IT ALL!
She did feel guilty, believing there are more important stories in the world to discuss, but that would be selling this accomplishment short. Most people don’t believe models can walk and talk at the same time. This woman was walking and breastfeeding at the same time. She’s like a….supermodel.

I’m willing to bet we’re going to see a lot more of her in the upcoming swimsuit issue. If she’s don’t make it to the magazine, Sports Illustrated should do like athletes and stick to sports.
