Carrie Fisher’s sudden passing in December totally floored me. I couldn’t stop thinking about her family, who lost Fisher and her mother Debbie within days of each other. As happens so often when a beloved celebrity passes away, people started taking a new look at Fisher’s career, and realizing that she was pretty great. Fortunately, it seems that her fans aren’t the only ones celebrating her work.
Besides being a hard-ass space princess, Carrie Fisher was very funny. She’s being acknowledged for her funny side with an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy for her role on Catastrophe. Fisher stole the show in the British sitcom with her role as leading man’s Rob Delaney’s impossible mother.
Catastrophe co-creator Sharon Horgan best captured all of the complicated feelings by this announcement. “Very happy and sad and proud and messed up and delighted about our friend Carrie Fisher’s nomination.”

I say we keep nominating her for stuff until she wins.
Delighted to see Carrie honored in this way. She was da bomb!
