Madonna Trashed Whitney Houston

Madonna may not exactly be in vogue anymore, but she’s got cultural capital. When she speaks, the people listen. Whitney Houston is similarly an artist of yestertear, but she’s made her mark, and she can even make posthumous headlines. Put the two divas together and you’ve got a 2017 story.

Or in this case, a 1990s story. In a newly revealed letter to perpetual supporting actor John Enos, Madonna lets the world know how she really feels about Whitney:

“I have made so many people angry that I’m being punished and basically made to be quiet and sit in a corner, whole other less interesting and exciting people are reaping the benefits of the roads I’ve paved.

“It’s so unequivocally frustrating to read that Whitney Houston has the music career I wish I had and Sharon Stone has the film career I’ll never have. Not because I want to be these women because I’d rather die, but they’re so horribly mediocre and they’re always being held up as paragons of virtue and some sort of measuring stick to humiliate me.”

Horribly mediocre? We get it Madonna, you wrote “Material Girl” but you also wrote “Die Another Day.” I’m pretty sure you’re acquainted with mediocrity. This is not the first time Madonna has dealt with her anger management problems.

As for Whitney- that poor woman suffered enough. With friends and peers like Madonna stabbing her in the back, I have more sympathy for her than ever.
