‘I Don’t Enjoy Being Single’ Says Angelina Jolie, ‘People’ Magazine’s Most Beautiful Woman 2006

In an interview with the Sunday Telegraph, Angelina Jolie said she doesn’t like being single. There are whole Internet communities devoted to people, usually dudes, showering themselves with this same sort of self-pity, but most of the people that join those communities don’t have an Oscar.

I don’t enjoy being single. It’s not something I wanted. There’s nothing nice about it. It’s just hard.

Sometimes maybe it appears I am pulling it all together, but really I am just trying to get through my days. Emotionally, it’s been a very difficult year and I have had some other health issues. So my health is something I have to monitor.

You know she lives in a $25 million house once owned by Cecil B. DeMille? I mean, I get it, no one who had Jon Voight for a father is going to be emotionally well-adjusted, but Jolie filed for divorce a year ago. At a certain point, the “woe is me, I’m all alone except for my six children, maids, nannies, butlers, friends, colleagues and legions of adoring fans” act is going to wear thin.

You may recall that there were reports Jolie and her estranged husband Brad Pitt were getting back together, followed by those reports being squashed by Brad Pitt. E! News has multiple sources claiming this is the case and reconciliation isn’t in the cards for Jolie and Pitt.

In August, a source told E! News the “divorce is not moving forward right now,” adding, “They are taking a breather and seeing what happens.” The Mail on Sunday recently posted a report that indicates the two may divorce but not break up.

“They are not getting back together,” another source told E! News exclusively. “They are both focused on putting their children’s priorities first and are getting along, but this story is clearly an outsider trying to create a storyline that doesn’t exist.”

So there you go. Brad Pitt is going to keep listening to Bon Iver all alone while Angelina Jolie gives interviews that sound like she’s auditioning for a remake of Grey Gardens.
